Before- & After-School Programs
WMS's Extended Day Program reinforces the Montessori principles practiced in our classrooms throughout the day, ensuring as little transition as possible for students as they move from one classroom to another. Our before- and after-school programs are designed with education, adventure and enrichment in mind.
WMS offers care for current students of all ages for the hours before and after school. Before-school child care opens at 7 a.m. and after-care is open from 3 to 6 p.m. For toddlers and preschoolers, these programs are based in the regular Montessori classrooms, led by experienced staff members who are also part of the children’s school-day staff team.
For elementary and middle school students, programs are led by year-round WMS staff members. Each group is based in a room dedicated to and designed for the needs of older children beyond the classroom day. We provide snacks, organized games and projects, a place to relax, and time and space to run and play. Supervised homework time and assistance is offered Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. To register your child for before- or after-school child care, contact Tracey Gable, Director of Montessori Enrichment.
After-school enrichment programs are available throughout the year for students ages 3 and older. WMS also offers athletic programs for elementary and middle-school students.
Brandywine School District Families
WMS welcomes Brandywine School District (BSD) students in elementary and middle school into our before-school, after-school and School's Out child-care programs. On school days, the Brandywine School District provides transportation to Wilmington Montessori School for students attending Claymont, Mt. Pleasant and Forwood elementary schools. To register, contact Tracey Gable, Director of Montessori Enrichment.
BSD students are welcome to register for any after-school enrichment programs that fit their schedule.
