Designed for campers who have had at least one archery course (or some archery instruction), this camp will provide new challenges, including shooting targets at greater distances, learning trick shots and experimenting with other types of projectile launchers.
July 1-August 16: Training & Internship
Cost: $800 (for entire eight-week program)
The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program is designed for teens interested in becoming future Camp Montessori counselors. For two weeks, CITs will undergo intensive training in classroom management, child development, counselor responsibilities and what it means to be a camp employee. After completing the training, CITs will serve as camp interns, assisting counselors and working with campers in classrooms, at the pool and on field trips. CITs will be paired with lead counselor mentors and meet with the camp director weekly to monitor their progress and help them establish a positive and productive introduction to the workforce.
To ensure the best learning experience possible for our CITs, Camp Montessori accepts a limited number of trainees for the CIT program, and candidates will go through an interview process before they are accepted. Please email Tracey Gable to apply for the CIT program.
Tutoring in reading, writing, reading comprehension and math is availbe on an hourly basis throughout the summer for children of all ages. The tutoring program helps students that need academic support over the summer months, with the added convenience of being offered in the same location as camp. Trish Harkins, Wilmington Montessori School's year-round academic support specialist, will tailor the curriculum to the needs of the student. Please email Tracey Gable to sign up for tutoring.
