The Turtles program closely mirrors our school-year Pre-Primary (Toddler) Program in terms of the rhythm of the day: circle time, exploration of Montessori materials, cooking, culture, art, science projects, nature study and active play.

Highlights

Integrated Curriculum
Bi-weekly themes allow children to explore topics through many lenses. Toddlers explore STEAM in their specially designed Maker Studio throughout the summer.

Highly Trained & Experienced Staff
To provide consistency for our youngest campers, the Turtles are led by year-round WMS teachers. They will be assisted by many other school-year staffers and several college students. 

Facilities & Campus
Our Pre-Primary classrooms are beautiful spaces, designed by our lead teachers to facilitate toddlers' development of independence, competence and confidence. The natural toddler playground, gross-motor playroom, Pre-Primary Maker (STEAM) Studio and acres of natural woodlands provide the perfect environment for a program supporting toddlers' physical, social and intellectual development. Children engage in a variety of outdoor activities including weekly waterplay on the toddler playground!

* The Turtles camp program is only available for children enrolled in Wilmington Montessori School for the 2025-26 or 2026-27 school year who will NOT be 3 years old by June 8, 2026. Please contact camp@wmsde.org for the link to register your child or sign up for a waiting list in the case of full sessions.
