Kangaroos (entering kindergarten)

At Camp Montessori, the Kangaroos are the youngest group in the elementary camp community. They swim three days per week, take four field trips over the course of the summer, including visits to the Herr's Snack Factory and the Brandywine Zoo.

Every week’s plan includes music, arts and crafts, team-building, science and exploring the Wilmington Montessori woods. Active games, water play, all-camp parties and in-house field trips round out the summer experience.

Highly Trained & Experienced Staff
The Kangaroos are led by year-round WMS teacher Gabby Clark. Additionally, Meerkats will participate in STEAM activities in our Maker Studios throughout the summer, and Wilmington Montessori School's year-round art teacher Laurie Muhlbauer explores a wide range of art projects with work with campers each week.

Campers moving from preschool to kindergarten look forward to beginning to visit the pool during the summer! The children walk through the woods on our nature trail on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to swim for an hour at Windybush Swim Club. Campers who can swim are invited to take the swim test (swimming the width of the pool unassisted) at any time, and if they pass, they can swim anywhere in the big pool. Children who are not ready for the main pool can swim in the large wading pool, which has plenty of room for safe swim practice and fun.
