Dragons (entering grades 6-9)
The Dragons, our rising sixth- through ninth-graders, swim three days per week at Windybush Swim Club, and take seven field trips over the course of the summer including visits to the Renaissance Faire, a ropes course and Guppy Gulch. Active games, water play, all-camp parties and visiting programs round out the summer experience. Some free-choice time is provided every day, allowing campers to follow their own interests.
As the oldest group at Camp Montessori, the Dragons demonstrate leadership in many areas, including planning and running a carnival for the younger children in the final week of camp.
Highly Trained & Experienced Staff
The Dragons are led by year-round Wilmington Montessori School staff member Brandy Solomon. They participate in STEAM activities in our Maker Studios throughout the summer. Additionally, WMS's year-round art teacher Laurie Muhlbauer explores a wide range of art projects with work with campers each week.
Three afternoons per week, campers choose from a new slate of counselor-led elective activities including archery, basketball, photography, LEGO projects, writing and more.
