To ensure that Wilmington Montessori School stays at the forefront of educational excellence, the Board of Directors marked its 50th anniversary by embarking on a $3.5 million comprehensive campaign. The campaign established the Marie M. Dugan Fund for the Future, honoring this long-time head of school, whose dream is to ensure that the core values of WMS can be financially sustained. The Marie M. Dugan Fund for the Future provided funds to support:
- Improvements in salaries, benefits and professional development opportunities to help us ensure that we maintain excellent faculty and staff.
- Enhancements to our technology, arts integration and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) programs.
- Building and campus repairs and upgrades, including natural playgrounds and outdoor space enhancements.
- Strengthening our balance sheet and working capital by growing our cash reserve.
The campaign, which concluded in August 2016, surpassed our goal, raising more than $4.5 million to help WMS move solidly into the future. Learn more in our 2015-16 Annual Report.
Thank you for your support!
