In 2016, the former WMS library was renovated and transformed into the Learning Commons. After studying the ways in which students, parents and staff used the library at WMS, we sought to transform it into a better hub for learning, sharing, collaborating and sharing - not simply to house books and information.
Families, students and staff are encouraged to use the Learning Commons all day, including before and after school. It is a place for members of our community to relax, check email or a news feed, read to children, collaborate with others or check out a book. You will also find items from our Maker Studios housed on the shelves on a rotating basis. These items will shift throughout the year and will be available for your exploration. In addition, there will be events and meetings held in this space throughout the year. As part of the extension of the Maker Studio and technology initiative, the library now houses a video production room complete with a green screen.
