Technology at Wilmington Montessori School

The technology program is based on units made up of 1-2 lessons of 20 mins. per student for 1st-3rd grade classes and 2-3 lessons of 50 mins. per class for 4th-6th grade classes. The program is taught once a week and rotates units pertaining to cultural studies, typing, grammar, science, and research. Each unit covers activities and skills that are learned in the classroom.

The technology program reinforces the students' general knowledge and allows them to build upon their acquired skills. We emphasize terminology, safe internet research and using our research in various applications. Children can converse on particular subjects and ask and respond to questions in guided activities. Students work on each project independently. Different stages of difficulty are demonstrated in every lesson so each child can feel some level of comfort while learning at the same time.
