All positions at WMS require an interview, a fingerprint background check (appropriate for licensed daycare centers, not school-age only) with the Delaware State Police and a physical exam/health clearance form from your doctor which includes a Mantoux Tuberculin Skin Test within the past 12 months.



After-School Program Staff Positions

K-6th grade after-school staff position: 3-6 p.m., 3-5 days/week.  Work includes some time outdoors. Must have experience working with groups of children, and have or be willing to obtain DE state assistant teacher certificate. 

Toddler after-school staff position: 3-6 p.m., 5 days/week.  Work includes some time outdoors. Must have experience working with groups of children, and have or be willing to obtain DE state assistant teacher certificate. 

Toddler after-school staff position: 3-6 p.m., Mondays & Fridays.  Work includes some time outdoors. Must have experience working with groups of children, and have or be willing to obtain DE state assistant teacher certificate. 



Early Childhood and Elementary Teachers
Wilmington Montessori School is currently accepting resumes for possible openings for Early Childhood and Elementary Teachers.  Potential candidates will need to have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Education, and Montessori Certification or the willingness to obtain Montessori training. ECE and Elementary training sites are located in Silver Springs, MD; Princeton, NJ; and New Rochelle, NY.  ECE has an additional site in Wilmington, DE.

On-Call Substitutes

Wilmington Montessori School is accepting ongoing resumes for on-call substitutes.  If you enjoy a new experience every day and getting to know children and teachers in a wide variety of classrooms (Infant through 6th grade) consider becoming a on-call substitute at WMS. You tell us your availability on each day of the week between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., and we will call you when opportunities arise within those parameters. Job requirements are good listening skills, willingness to ask questions and to follow the direction of the lead teacher, love and respect for young people, and an interest in learning about the Montessori method of education.
