No school is in a better position to prepare children for the future than Wilmington Montessori School. Schools are undergoing a major paradigm shift to help children meet the challenges of the 21st century. But this “new” focus—emphasizing critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication—has been the philosophy and practice at Wilmington Montessori School for 50 years!
To ensure that Wilmington Montessori School stays at the forefront of educational excellence, the Board of Directors marked its 50th anniversary by embarking on $3.5 million comprehensive campaign.
The campaign establishes the Marie M. Dugan Fund for the Future, honoring this long-time head of school, whose dream is to ensure that the core values of WMS can be financially sustained. The Marie M. Dugan Fund for the Future will provide funds to:
★ Improvements in salaries, benefits and professional development opportunities to help us ensure that we maintain excellent faculty and staff.
★ Enhancements to our technology and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) programs.
★ Building and campus repairs and upgrades, including natural playgrounds and outdoor space enhancements.
★ Strengthening our balance sheet and working capital by growing our cash reserve.
WMS is reaching out to families, alumni, supporters and foundations asking them to invest in today’s learners to enable WMS to transform them into tomorrow’s leaders.
