Drama Workshop I
Drama Workshop II
For ages 4-6
3:30-4:10 p.m., 10 weeks (January 25 through April 18—no class on February 15, March 21 or March 28)
Taught by actor, playwright, director and educator George Tietze, this workshop is designed to emphasize physical exercise to increase spatial/body awareness, vocal exercises to increase verbal acuity, and activities to strengthen concentration and mental agility. Students will learn how to turn imaginative play into art!
For ages 6-10
4:20-5:05 p.m., 10 weeks (January 25 through April 18—no class on February 15, March 21 or March 28)
Taught by actor, playwright, director and educator George Tietze, this workshop is designed to strengthen concentration and mental agility, guiding students as they build skill and confidence in storytelling and dramatic collaboration. Students will develop their improvisational skills and craft their own performance pieces!
For ages 7-11
4:15-5:45 p.m., 10 weeks (January 25 through April 18—no class on February 15, March 21 or March 28)
Understanding the science of cooking makes for a mad delicious food experience. Baking is an enduring life skill that can be artistic, creative and sometimes surprising! Each week we will explore new ingredients and cook a new meal.
For grades 1 & 2
3:15-4:15 p.m., 7 weeks (January 11 through March 7—no class on January 18 or February 15)
WMS Physical Education teacher Jill Hallissey will teach students the rules and basic skills involved in the game of basketball. Through skill drills, demonstrations and game play, children will learn and practice the things that they need to know to be a valuable member of any team.
For ages 4-7
4:15-5 p.m., 10 weeks (January 26 through April 12—no class on March 22 or 29)
A branch of gymnastics, tumbling is the art of floor-based acrobatics. Tumbling offers specific benefits and a solid introduction to gymnastics as a sport for younger kids. Whether your child is a budding gymnast or just needs a way to get the wiggles out, tumbling helps to build spatial awareness, balance, agility, flexibility, focus and physical confidence.
10 weeks (January 26 through April 12—no class on March 22 or 29)

4:15-5 p.m. for ages 6-12
Breath. Stretching. Sound. Stillness. Movement. Yoga is the perfect way to unwind after the busy school day! Yoga balances mind, body and spirit and has many proven benefits including improved flexibility, posture, circulation, digestion and immune system. Children will learn how to focus, balance, energize and calm themselves. Keren Portia has 15 years of experience as a children’s yoga instructor and Montessori educator, and loves to share her expertise with us!
A Cappella Ensemble
For ages 8-12
3-4 p.m., 10 weeks (January 27 through April 6—no class on March 23)
A cappella is the art of singing without any instruments, instead using your voices to make the background instrumental sounds and beats. This is usually done with pop or jazz songs. We will meet once a week and learn about three songs, one of which we will arrange together as a group.

3:30-4:15 p.m., 10 weeks (January 27 through April 6—no class on March 23) $185
Veteran WMS art teacher Laurie Muhlbauer will lead this exploration of art in the styles of the Masters. We explore works by famous artists of the past, then create 2D and 3D works inspired by what we learn.
Spanish Culture Club
For ages 7-12
3:30-4:30 p.m., 10 weeks (January 21 through April 14—no class on February 11, March 24 or March 31)
WMS Spanish teacher Ana Brown will focus on cultural experiences: culinary projects with dishes from Mexico and Spain, interesting dances (La Raspa and Flamenco), and art projects inspired by famous artists like Frida Kahlo and Pablo Picasso. Join us for this fun and rich immersion experience!
For ages 6-9
4:15-5 p.m., 10 weeks (January 21 through April 14—no class on February 11, March 24 or March 31)
Ballet is the foundation for all types of dance and assists in developing muscles and posture that allow the body to move confidently with grace and poise. Join us in exploring the magical stories of famous ballets including Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake and Coppélia. This is not your average ballet class. Props, pantomime and choreography to kid-friendly music keeps the tone upbeat and fun!
For ages 4-7
3:30-4 p.m., 10 weeks (January 21 through April 14—no class on February 11 or March 24)
Delaware Music School brings their popular program to WMS! This program is designed to expand the musical experiences of kindergarten or older students. In addition to the activities mentioned above, students are introduced to rhythmic and graphic notation. They “explore” habitats and countries around the world through songs and chants, dances, creating musical stories and much more! Professional musicians provide an instrument demonstration each semester.
For ages 3-5
3:30-4:05 p.m., 10 weeks (January 21 through April 14—no class on February 11, March 24 or March 31)
Activities are designed to increase kinesthetic awareness and encourage freedom through music, singing, stretching, circle games and pantomime. This program helps students achieve the benefits of self-confidence, musicality and creative expression gained from cultivating an appreciation of the art of dance in a fun, recreational setting.
For grades 3 to 6
Session 1: 6 weeks (Fridays January 22 & 29; February 5, 19 & 26, & March 4)
Session 2: 6 weeks (Fridays April 8, 15, 22 & 29, May 13 & Thursday, May 19)
Cost: $180 per six-week session
Musician, composer and teacher Joe Ambrosino brings his talents back to WMS for another season! Beginners are welcome. Parents may register for both sessions or just for Session 1. Registrations for Session 2 must be in by March 18.

The coaches of MyServe Tennis bring us this indoor version of the USTA’s Quick-Start Tennis for kids. They provide appropriately-sized nets, racquets, and balls. Participants will be sure to improve their game, burn off some energy, and have a great time doing it!
