2012 Workshop Presenters

Center for Montessori Advancement

Lisa Lalama 
has taught upper elementary at Wilmington Montessori School for 11 years.  She is currently the 9-12 Program Coordinator at WMS and a field consultant for Princeton Center for Teacher Education in Princeton, N.J.  She is AMS-credentialed 6-9 and 9-12.

Liz Madden, M.Ed., is the Elementary Learning Director at Wilmington Montessori School.  She has 15 years of Montessori experience including eight years in a 6-9 classroom.  She is AMS-credentialed 6-9.

Arlene Wason, M.S., is a lower elementary teacher at Wilmington Montessori School where she has also served as Director of Elementary Education.  With 19 years of Montessori experience, she is AMS-credentialed 6-9.

Sarah Williams is a lower elementary teacher in the 5-7 Program at Wilmington Montessori School. She has prior experience as a lead teacher in a 3-6 program and has tutored children who struggle with reading and writing. Sarah has worked for nearly 10 years within the Montessori community and holds AMS credentials in both early childhood (3-6) and lower elementary (6-9).

Cass Winner, M.A., M.F.A., is the Director of Extended Programs at Wilmington Montessori School. She has taught in the Philadelphia public schools and worked in classrooms at Wilmington Montessori School since 1991.  She has taught writing in a Montessori 9-12 classroom, and is an adjunct faculty member in creative writing at the Delaware College of Art and Design.

Linda Zankowsky, Ed.D., is Head of Wilmington Montessori School and a member of the AMS Research Committee and the Task Force on Professional Development.  She holds an AMS credential in School Leadership from CMTE.  Her doctoral work focused on school-wide reading assessment in a Montessori program and she is an adjunct literary instructor at the University of Delaware.  Linda consults nationally with Montessori schools in the areas of leadership, reading and writing instructional practices, and assessment.   Prior to her work at Wilmington Montessori School, she was a public school principal.
