Damien Burke was recently appointed to the WMS Board, which is the school’s executive governing body.
Burke is currently a Broad Resident working for the Superintendent of the School District of Philadelphia. The Broad Residency is a leadership program, placing participants in high-level managerial positions, where they can have an immediate impact on the education of America’s students. Prior to joining The Broad Residency, Burke was the director for a consulting firm and has over a decade of operations management experience. Burke holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia and an Executive Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Delaware.
In addition to his business experience, Burke has an extensive background in community and government relations, bringing a strong set of management skills to the board. He also brings a commitment and dedication to education. His leadership as a board member will be important as the school moves forward with implementing its strategic vision plan. “I am thrilled to be joining the Board of Wilmington Montessori School, and look forward to supporting the school’s growth as a 21st century school” states Burke. He lives in Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania with his wife and two daughters, the youngest a student at WMS.
