WMS students in the 9-12 Program recently led a school-wide fundraising effort to raise money to provide relief in Haiti. For the past several weeks, students continually publicized their fundraising drive and collected money from within the school community on designated pizza lunch days. The students selected the Red Cross as their intended recipient after learning about the Red Cross program in Haiti and the urgent need for additional support.
Daniel Valle, Red Cross of Delmarva Peninsula CEO, was at Wilmington Montessori School today to accept the $1,000 donation from students. This was a great opportunity for the students to hear the direct impact of their fundraising efforts and understand how the money they raised will be used to help Haiti.
