Music Teacher

Fall 2017
Wilmington Montessori School is accepting applications for the position of Music Teacher for the 2017-18 school year. This is a part-time position working with children between the ages of 1 and 12 years old. The hours and days of the week to be determined upon hire. This position is an opportunity for an individual to work with a highly skilled staff in an environment that is focused on the development of children as individuals. The school focuses on the whole child: physical, social, emotional and cognitive.

The successful candidate for this position will have:
  • Bachelor of Music Education
  • Experience in working with children preferably between 1 to 12 years old.
  • The ability to demonstrate the connection between music education and the development of the whole child.
  • Experience in or demonstrate knowledge of the Montessori Philosophy of Education.
  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding of the Wilmington Montessori School Mission.

Early Childhood and Elementary Teachers

Wilmington Montessori School is accepting applications for potential openings for Lead Early Childhood and Elementary Teachers. Potential candidates will have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in education, and Montessori Certification or the willingness to obtain Montessori training.

Summary of Position:

The teacher at WMS is responsible for planning and implementing integrated instruction for students to address their cognitive, social, emotional and physical needs within a multi-age classroom setting. Part-Time Assistant Teachers and On-Call Substitutes

Wilmington Montessori School is accepting applications for potential openings for part-time assistant teachers and on-call substitutes. Candidates interested in part-time positions must be available to work Monday through Friday from the hours of 3 to 6 p.m.
On-call substitutes days and hours will vary as they are used to cover for a regular staff person when they are out. Sometimes these days will be planned in advance, and some will be offered on the day of the absence. We run programs Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Applicants may state specific days and hours of availability, and need not be available every day.
We are a non-profit, year-round early childhood and elementary school participating in Delaware Stars for Early Success with a five-star rating and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Candidates must:
  • Have certification that meets Delaware First requirements or the willingness to obtain this certification.
